Choose a US President or Lose the Election Poll

So MTV had this show \"Choose or Lose\" on this evening. I thought it was a great way to put issues out there for the youth of America and hopefully get them out to vote! What was good about it was that when the candidates, such as Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton were asked questions, it was very honest, sincere, to the point, and answered the question! Unlike those tv debates you see online where the candidates walk around the question, they actually give real answers. If you get a chance to watch this show please do. Tell someone else about it. Then go vote for your president at the 2008 U.S. Election. See you at the polls!

2008 Election 100 Million Dollar Pixel

It's amazing when you look at the amount of money the different 2008 election candidates have raised. An average Joe, let's say Alex Tew, is able to raise a million dollars using a simple viral "million dollar pixel". (Google it if you are not familiar). Now imagine if someone who's above the average Joe, let's say a 2008 presidential candidate, tries to create some innovative ways to earn some money... like a 100 million dollar pixel, would it work? Did Ron Paul's money bombs work? Well it doesn't have to be exactly that idea, but you get the point.

Then my next question, does fund raising, online polls, and number of votes have a correlation?

Why is Alan Keyes running for President

We just added Alan Keyes to OurVote.us and blogged from his Q and A, why he is running for President:

On Oct. 11, 2007, Alan Keyes participated in the Ohio Christian Alliance Presidential Candidate Forum, and on that occasion Alan Keyes was asked "why he was running for the presidency of the United States." Here's his response in his own words:

I'm [Alan Keyes] running for president because I think this republic is collapsing. I [Alan Keyes] think our system of self-government is being replaced by a system in which we will be dominated by foreign powers, by globalist institutions, by self-seeking corporations, instead of having a government of, by, and for the people.

This collapse of our national sovereignty and the sovereignty of our people is taking place because we have abandoned the basic moral principle on which this country was founded: that our rights come from God, and that therefore we must exercise them and apply them with respect for the authority of God.

In every area, we are finding that this retreat from principle is leading to the destruction of innocent life in the womb, the collapse of the family structure, the loss of our self-confidence in the defense of our borders, and finally, a misunderstanding of what the war on terror is about, since our aim must be to defeat the forces that disregard the claims of innocent life, in violation of the fundamental principle on which our country was founded.

And I [Alan Keyes] don't hear anybody else articulating this vision which makes it clear that we are urgently involved in an effort to save our republic, to save our system of self-government, and that effort especially depends on reasserting our allegiance for the basic founding vision and principles that our Founders put in place for this country.

I'm [Alan Keyes] just sick of all the people dancing around it and acting as if we're dealing with this issue and that issue and the other issue. There is one issue, and all these other issues are like the fissures and cracks in the wall that bespeak the collapse of the foundations.

It's time we dealt with the real problem, articulated it with vision, and faced it with moral courage. And that is what my effort is about: to call people together on the common ground of our faith in God and our acceptance of the Declaration's principles, so that we can once again become a government of, by, and for a people who have reclaimed their active citizenship and reestablished real liberty in this country.

Hillary for President and Obama as Running Mate

So I was in the lunch room the other day and some one brought up an interesting conversation. The topic: Hillary Clinton for President with Barack Obama as her running mate for the United States 2008 Election. They both agreed that this combination would really have a big hit for the democrats for next years election in November. However, would Barack Obama really except the role of Vice President? We think it's president or nothing. The same would be true if it was reversed: Barack Obama for presidential candidate with Hillary Clinton as Vice President. I doubt it, but hey you never know.

What presidential candidate / running mate combinations would you like to see?

Are Political Volunteers Honored or Abused

You're fresh out of college and you want to get into a political career. You have volunteered to help with your political candidate's campaign because you see that as your only way in. Your fearless political leader is out spending his donations on parties, travels, dinners, and drinks.. of course to effectively network while you are reaching your 12+ hour work day. You barely make a living and start to wonder about the whole political system. Let's start with the topic of volunteering in the political system.

Are political campaigns volunteer friendly? Does the committee allow flexible work hours? Are you having fun? Does the candidate thank you and reward you? If a political candidate that is campaigning can create a volunteer friendly organization, they will be able to substantially enhance their ability to attract volunteers, donations, and votes, leading to electoral success.

So tell me, for those of you who are political volunteers, do you have any good stories, or frustration you want to vent?

The Conspiracy to Shut Up Ron Paul

So the question is, is there really a conspiracy by the media, online "gangs", and other larger entities to suppress the momentum that Ron Paul has been gaining over the past six months? We are not putting our opinion into this analysis, but merely giving you sources to help bring you to your own conclusion.

Facts/Sources:

"Even WorldNetDaily, a prominent, conservative Internet news provider, has largely ignored Ron Paul's candidacy." (Clear Media Conspiracy Against Ron Paul)

"We've gotten hundreds of emails the last couple days from people interested in helping bury Ron Paul. We even had a guy who really wanted to bury Ron Paul." (Online Gang to Bury Ron Paul)

If you look at the google trends and OurVote.us momentum graphs (doesn't it look like pac-man?!) below, you can clearly see that there has been growing interest in Ron Paul. So tell me, do you think there is a conspiracy?

Bill for First Lady Campaign

So who's heard this joke: If Hillary Clinton becomes president, that makes Bill Clinton first lady! There have been many Bill/Hillary jokes on talk shows, the media, and probably even your office. But have these jokes gone too far?

What turned out to be a few laughs ended up as a serious strategy. The team at billforfirstlady.com have created a Bill for First Lady 2008 Campaign.. and it's no joke. They are supporting Hillary Clinton in a different way, believing that "serious politics" doesn't need to be "boring politics".

The Republicans are already going after Hillary with any dirt they can find. That's because they know that she's the most popular and electable Democrat - which means Hillary's not just a First Lady... she'll be the First Lady President.

Their Bill for First Lady Campaign strategy helps defend Hillary Clinton against Republican attacks on Bill as well. "That's why this campaign is about beating Republicans to the punch - and to the punch line - by laughing with Bill and not at him."

Should the Voting System be Changed

What if voting was done electronically? What if the voting system changed to a mass popular vote? What is the purpose of having state by state voting?

To spice things up a little bit, we are going to see what happens if voting is done through OurVote.us, just for fun.

OurVote.us is holding its own election in protest to the thousands of online polls that appear one minute and are gone the next. I have seen countless polls that have been altered and rigged by CNN or Fox. This one is here to stay.

What would you like to see changed about the voting process or system? Add your thoughts.
